This place is a waffle delight. The variety of flavors takes me to my happy place. The peach cobbler is 🔥. The low country boil waffle 🔥. The workers gave the best customer service. Am I going back? Yes...many more times.

My husband and I had brunch at The Cafe on 8th, and it was such a great experience! They have some really unique waffles, and we tried a few different dishes, but The Down Home (stuffed chicken, bacon, and collard waffle) was easily our favorite. The waffle had collard greens and chicken mixed in, and the dip on the side just took it to the next level. So good! I also loved the Peach Palmer—super refreshing. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, which made the experience even better. Everything was cooked fresh, and we could watch as the cook prepared the dishes. We ordered at the register so we could get some recommendations, but you can also order from your phone and have the food brought to your table, which is really convenient. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area.

Cafe on 8th has a good location but poor signage, if my husband hadn’t pointed it out I would’ve missed it. Over all I would I would say the owner seemed great. The food was Great!!! I mean I did actually kinda dream about that waffle. (My husband had brought me a waffle to go a few days ago.) The atmosphere was ok could use some more aesthetic like maybe an actual theme or something. It felt like a mix between a sports bar and a smoothie shop and a cafe? The restaurant has a lot of potential but needs to pick what type of restaurant it wants to be. Is it more like a deli where you place your order and then come pick it up at the window or an actual sit down restaurant with a server, or even kinda like a made to order cafeteria style. Really just needing customers to be able to walk in and know what to expect, what their “role” is are they going to be served are they throwing their own trash away or what. The prices were actually decent not over priced or underpriced. The wait time for getting our drinks was amazing but our food took quite a bit longer. Not to mention my husband received the wrong waffle and my waffle was initially given to the wrong person and had to be remade. I would give this restaurant an 6 out of 10. Again food was really good and the place is not hopeless but it does have a lot of room for growth.

I came here over the weekend and was very pleased with my experience. The atmosphere is amazing. I loved the Jazz that was playing, gave the area a nice ambiance. Food is cooked to order so it was a wait but worth it. The Strawberry waffle was amazing. I also had the veggie omelet, I added turkey sausage and to wash it down I had the COE Sunrise. I personally wouldn’t get the drink again but would get a smoothie. I couldn’t get past the taste of the collards in the sunrise. Everything was under $35 and to me well worth it. Really enjoyed my visit.

The service was good at first. We were greeted when we walked in and we took a look at the menu. It was our first time there since we were visiting from out of town so they gave us a few recommendations and we ordered our food. We then sat down at a table since it was self seating. We didn’t get our waters until after our food was served which is fine I understand they get busy. The food didn’t take too long. We ordered 3 dishes. The Down home, the banana nut, and an omelet with turkey sausage and veggies. Our server came to our table and served us 3 dishes. Which dish was which was not explained to us and we thought all our food was out already because after she served us she said “does everything look good” or something along those lines. The banana nut was obvious but we weren’t sure what was the omelet or the down home because there was a small side of an omelet waffle which was just egg. We didn’t know if any of the dishes came with a side of an egg omelet or if the dish was served as a mistake. I then bring the small omelet dish to our server. I asked what the item was or it was included in what we order and she looked at the dish and took it away and brought it back to the kitchen. She then took a look at our receipt and didn’t really say anything or explained to us what the small side of egg waffle was. Didn’t answer any of my questions and I never saw that small side of egg waffle again. Shortly after then our down home dish was served to us. It was just a confusing situation that I wish could’ve been handled better by communicating with us. As for the food, the pictures online are a bit misleading and on the expensive side for the quality. All the photos were taken right after it was served to us. I’d only order the omelet again. A bit lacking with the ingredients and needs sauce. The down home was too doughy for my liking and it’s a mix of salty and sweet from the batter and ingredients. The banana nut it was very crispy and came with powdered sugar and a side of the glaze. I didn’t taste much banana or saw any nuts on/in the waffle.
