Can’t believe this place has been nearby and we have never been to try it. It’s a hidden gem. Food came out quickly and was good. Mostly bar food options, but they have some nicer entree and meal options it seems for dinner time. They had music bingo going on, so a little louder than usual probably, but everyone was having a good time. I have to commend our waiter, I think it was either TJ or CJ. . He was polite, friendly and very attentive to his tables (yes, us too). He let us know what was not available, made some excellent recommendations and my wife and I were shocked that it was his first week with the business. You definitely couldn’t tell. We will be back for sure. The food is great, the service is amazing.

Im leaving my first ever review. With the help of the server who took care of us he showed me how to do it and was very patient when I don’t do technology. CJ was very kind and patient with us as we debated what my husband and I wanted to split. There are so many great options and we are so glad we gave this place a try. We settled on the ribeye dinner and it was fabulous. Five stars to your cooks. Special shout out to CJ as well for being such a wonderful spirit and ensuring we were taken care of. We will be returning. Word of advice if youre coming in to this place. Ask for CJ

My husband and I went here for the first and last time last night. My food was really good (philly steak sandwich); my husband didn't like his so much (Big Tony). The service was really terrible though. Walked in with no greeting or direction to just seat ourselves. The guy doing music bingo, who didn't even work there, finally told us to just sit anywhere that didn't have a reserved sign. We sat down, were not acknowledged by anyone for at least 10 minutes, before a lady said she'd be with us in a minute. At this point there were maybe 4 or 5 other tables with people, so they were not busy and there were at least 3 waitresses walking around. Lady comes back to the table, brings us menus, and we both order our drinks. She drops off the the drinks and immediately leaves. Another 15-20 minutes go by, and against our better judgement we continue to wait. She comes back and said there was a "maintenance issue" in the kitchen she had to take care of. We order and by this time a couple of more tables of people have come in including one behind us with some men that just got done playing golf. From what I gathered, these men were "regulars." I heard them ask a young employee who would be their server and she said "either mama or Taylor." I think "mama" may have been our waitress, but she never told us her name. I've already gone into a lot of detail, and there is so much more (including our waitress coming back 20 minutes later to ask us again what we had ordered), but I will say the part we had to biggest issue with was being pretty much ignored because we were not regulars in the place. On 2 specific occasions, someone would check the table of regulars sitting behind us, skip asking us if we were ok, and then check on the table on the other side of us. We sat with empty glasses for at least 20 minutes while "mama" and the other two waitresses walked all around us never stopping. Most of the other negative reviews that I have seen, kind of mirror the poor service that we also experienced. Too bad, because my food was pretty good.

Horse Creek Tavern at Midland Valley Golf Club is a hidden gem that delivers a great mix of lively atmosphere, solid food, and good drinks. My wife and I had dinner there recently, and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The tavern has a welcoming, energetic vibe—perfect for unwinding after a round of golf or just catching up with friends. The standout of our meal was definitely the wings. They were cooked just right—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside—and packed with flavor. Whether you like them spicy, sweet, or somewhere in between, there’s a sauce to suit your taste. The drink selection was also impressive, with a well-stocked bar and some great local options. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. It’s clear the staff care about making sure everyone has a good time. The crowd was a nice mix of locals and golfers, giving the place a relaxed but lively energy. All in all, Horse Creek Tavern is worth checking out whether you’re a golfer or not. We’ll definitely be back—and next time, we’re bringing friends. Don’t skip the wings.

Waitress was extremely rude and sarcastic. Ordered the open face sandwich and asked for everything on the side. Meal arrived at our table and when I questioned why it wasn’t on the side she very arrogantly said “it is on the side… it’s on the side of the sandwich” and then grinned at me. All of our meals were absolutely disgusting and the worst was the tipsy chicken… upon cutting into the chicken I noticed that the chicken itself was pink, after the way our waitress acted over the items on the side I wasn’t even going to say anything else to her. We will definitely not come back and would not recommend this restaurant, if you’re looking for a decent meal you’d be better off going to McDonalds! Overpriced shitty food is what they serve here!
