My husband wanted to take our son and I out to lunch for Mother's Day weekend, so I wouldn't have to cook lunch, so we decided to support a local business in our town. I feel like 2 stars is being very generous with this review, but had I looked at some of the recent reviews, we would not have dined here. Understanding that this weekend is graduation for Furman, we were patient and waited in line for 20 minutes to order. Once we ordered (2 sandwiches and 1 wrap) we waited at our table for 40 minutes before the food arrived. I am a patient woman, however, the meal did not match the $67 bill with a 20% gratuity I gave when ordering. The sandwiches had hardly any turkey on them- I'm not a huge meat person, but when I order a sandwich with meat, and it costs what it did, I expect to see it and not to have to search for it on my sandwich. My husband and son said the same about theirs. The tables were rarely cleaned of dirty dishes by staff, and I noticed other customers actually had to wipe their own tables. The staff notified other customers of being out of certain meats, which I can't understand as it was barely lunchtime, unless they didn't prepare for the weekend. We left feeling angry for spending that amount on a meal that took that long, and wasn't anything special at all. As someone with years of experience in the hospitality industry, I am embarrassed for TR to have this as an example for out of town guests, let alone locals who are trying to support TR businesses. Some of the recent reviews seem to reflect the same, so I'm not sure what's happening here. I can't say I will be back after that experience.

I really wanted to love this place. I love to support local businesses! But $15 for a sandwich I could have made myself at home with ham from Costco (Country Homeboy) that wasn’t very good? Feels wrong. The Grilled Blue cheese was barely grilled. Sandwiches have barely any filling… overpowered by the chutney. Coffee is self-serve and was cold. Too bad, this could be the perfect stop on the way back from hiking.

This is the cutest place! The breakfast sandwich was perfect. The atmosphere is amazing fire a breakfast and reading or even catching up on emails. They have plants, grifts and play music. The plant cutting wall is such a cute idea! We will definitely be back soon.

My husband & I went here for the first time & really enjoyed our food. The bread was delicious & the ingredients tasted so fresh & flavorful. I thought the inside seating area & atmosphere was really cute & cozy as well. Love that if you bring a propagated plant you can take one. Such a cute spot. Would come here again.

This is a very small restaurant. The menu is on the wall when you walk in. Not very easy to read. They have day old pastries for 30% off. I like that. Theyre cheaper and it shows they focus on freshness. Im not sure how the kitchen works but the food is super slow. Its good that we got these day old brownies to munch on. I ordered the French toast casserole. It came out and about 3 mins later the other half of the order came out. The brownies are delicious. Even day old. The French toast casserole was very good. I love the flavor. The texture isnt what I was expecting. Id drive back for it though. The rest stop sandwich is really good. Overall a good experience. The owner seems very involved. I would suggest individual menus. The font is difficult to read and a lot of the older customers in front of me were having a hard time. Then they had to read the menu by the register and that slowed down the ordering process. Id recommended this place. Come on Saturday so you can get the French toast casserole. Its only here 1 day a week.
